Investigations Division
The Criminal Investigations Division of the Polk County Sheriff's Office consists of experienced, dedicated veteran officers who work at the direction of the Sheriff. The investigators are responsible for the follow-up and investigation of all felony crimes, as well as assisting patrol deputies with many misdemeanor investigations. The Crime Scene Technician is also under the command of the CID. The Crime Scene Technician is responsible for identifying, photographing, and collecting evidence at crime scenes as well as being responsible for property and evidence control. When evidence is collected by this officer it must be turned in to be cataloged and placed into a secure vault for safekeeping.
The CID has four full time detectives. These detectives work closely using a team approach with all surrounding law enforcement jurisdictions as well as state and federal entities.
